Now we are living in Cenozoic era, Quaternary period, recent epoch. Around us over 8.7 million animal species are living. New species are also discovering. CLASSIFICATION OF ANIMALS VERTEBRATES Vertebrates are commonly identified as, they have bake bone (Spinal cord ). They have a hard skeleton made of bone, that supports body tissue and muscle.
